Product Photo Requirements
Product Photo Requirements
Your existing Shopify product images are enough to get started with VideoPoint. Here is what works best and how to get the most out of your photos.
Minimum requirements
Any product photos already in your Shopify catalog will work. VideoPoint syncs your product images automatically when you install the app. You do not need to upload photos separately.
For best results
Use a white or plain background. Clean backgrounds help the AI isolate the product and generate more accurate visuals.
Provide front and back views. This is especially important for avatar-based videos and try-on content. Front and back photos help the AI render how the garment looks from behind, avoiding errors in rear-view visuals.
Good lighting. Well-lit photos produce better AI output. Avoid shadows, color casts, or uneven lighting.
Standard product photography. The kind of photos you already use on your Shopify store work well. Flat-lay photos, on-model shots, and ghost mannequin images are all compatible.
What to avoid
- Busy backgrounds. Complex backgrounds can confuse the AI and reduce output quality.
- Low resolution images. Higher resolution photos produce sharper videos. Use the highest quality images your store has.
- Heavy editing or filters. Heavily edited photos with strong color grading or overlays can affect how accurately the AI interprets the product.
Photo tips by content type
Avatar videos (Runway Walk, Lookbook, Street Portrait): Front and back product photos on a plain background. The AI fits the garment onto the avatar, so a clear view of the product is important.
Product 360 and Ghost 360: Multiple angle shots help, but a single front-view photo works as a starting point.
Ad creatives and social content: Any clear product photo works. The AI handles background replacement and styling.
