Theme Compatibility
Theme Compatibility
VideoPoint works with all Shopify themes. Here is how integration works depending on your theme type.
Modern themes (app block support)
Most current Shopify themes support app blocks. This is the recommended integration method:
- Go to your Shopify theme editor (Online Store > Themes > Customize).
- Navigate to the page where you want to add a widget.
- Click Add block and find VideoPoint in the app blocks section.
- Position the block where you want it on the page.
- Select the widget you created in your VideoPoint dashboard.
- Save your theme.
No coding required. The widget automatically adapts to your theme's look and feel.
Older themes (no app block support)
If your theme does not support app blocks, you can embed widgets using a custom code block:
- In your VideoPoint dashboard, go to the widget you want to embed.
- Click Get Embed Code.
- Copy the HTML snippet.
- In your Shopify theme editor, add a Custom HTML section or block where you want the widget.
- Paste the embed code.
- Save your theme.
How to check if your theme supports app blocks
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize. If you can see an option to add "App blocks" when editing a page template, your theme supports them. If not, use the custom code method.
Theme-specific styling
VideoPoint widgets are designed to match your theme's styling automatically. Colors, fonts, and spacing adapt to your store's design. If you need further customization, the widget settings in VideoPoint provide additional styling options.
Troubleshooting
If a widget does not appear after adding the app block, check that you saved the theme, clear your browser cache, and reload the page. If the issue persists, contact VideoPoint support with your theme name and version.
