Understanding Video Views

Video views are counted when a shopper watches one of your shoppable videos on your store. Each plan includes a monthly allocation of video views, and additional views can be purchased as needed.

What counts as a view

A video view is counted when a shopper watches a video for at least 3 seconds. Impressions where the video loads but is not watched do not count.

This is an important distinction. Many competing shoppable video tools charge per widget impression (every time the widget loads on a page). VideoPoint charges per actual video view, which means you only pay when a shopper actually engages with your content. This makes VideoPoint's shoppable video 2-4x more affordable on a per-engagement basis.

Monitoring your usage

Check your current view count and usage trends in the VideoPoint dashboard under Settings > Usage. You can also set up alerts to notify you when you are approaching your monthly limit.

Choosing the right plan

If you consistently exceed your view allocation, upgrading to the next plan is usually more cost-effective than purchasing additional views. Compare the monthly cost of overage charges to the price difference of the next tier.
